Anthony Stewart Anthony Stewart 

Anthony Stewart (born 15 April 1970 in Burnie, Tasmania) is an Australian former professional basketball player in Australia's NBL. Stewart is currently working in an off-court role with the Cairns Taipans.

Career:

Stewart began his career with the Hobart Devils in 1992, but later joined the Perth Wildcats in 1995 to become an integral part of the Wildcats championship team that year. Stewart continued with the Wildcats winning another championship with the team in 2000 before leaving for the opportunity to captain the Taipans.

Shortly after the completion of the 2006/07 NBL season, the Taipans announced that they would not be resigning Stewart for the next season. A month later, on 4 April 2007, the Taipans announced that Stewart will remain with the club by accepting a job in the Taipans front office.

Anthony Stewart is currently playing in his sixteenth season of professional basketball.
Anthony is among the all time leaders in many statistical categories including the total number of games played, which is very elite company, and the kind of feat you can only achieve through hard work and discipline. Over the past two decades of playing elite level sport, Anthony has developed a great passion for exercise, diet and all things which encompass a healthy lifestyle.

He has also been exposed to a number of Australia’s leading strength and conditioning coaches. It is this knowledge which he is excited to pass on.
In addition to his knowledge and experience, Anthony is also a fantastic communicator and loves working in a team environment, or in a one on one setting. He has been the club captain of the Cairns Taipans for the past five years, and it is these leadership skills which he believes he can use to motivate and inspire people and help them achieve their goals.

2001-2007 (and beyond?) – Cairns Taipans (Club Captain)

Played in the World Club Championships in 2000.
